On the Vertex Gold VG.09 Cabinet, the front is divided into three columns inside a white frame. At the sides are two tall, full-height doors; in the centre, between two plain fronts, one at the top and one near the floor, an open niche at mid-height is split into two compartments, with a drawer just below it. There are no visible handles, which keeps the design calm and orderly.
The light oak tone, with its soft grain, fills the piece with light, while the white of the frame and of the niche’s interior makes the wood stand out. The cabinet rests on slim, angled metal legs in a bronze colour, which give it lightness and a warm glint close to the floor.
Against a dark wall, whether stone or wood, the white outline stands out sharply and the pale wood gains presence. The niche is the natural place for a vase or a piece of earthenware, and the drawer right below it holds cutlery, napkins and coasters; behind the doors go the crockery and the larger serving dishes.
