The Vertex Gold VG.12 Sideboard is the most understated of the collection’s long sideboards: four plain taupe doors, all alike and with no visible handles, set in a wide dark oak-tone frame. The sides of the frame are thick and rise above the top, giving the piece a strong outline, and the body stands on very slim metal legs.

The smooth, even taupe of the doors contrasts with the strongly marked grain of the frame. The stone-effect top is a dark grey crossed by fine white veins, and sits recessed within the frame. The grey metal legs are so slender that the sideboard seems almost to float.

With no niches or drawers on show, it keeps everything behind its doors and leaves the stage to the contrast between the dark oak tone and the stone-effect top. In the Vertex Gold VG.12 Dining Room it accompanies the Vertex Gold VG.15 Dining Table, shown there with a dark wood-tone top and V-shaped grey metal legs that echo the colours of the sideboard.
