The Soho Chest of Drawers has three wide drawers, one above the other, and a recessed vertical strip running from top to bottom in the middle, which serves as the handle. The strip divides each front into two halves, but each row is a single drawer that opens as one. Beside the strip and at the lower corners the fronts are rounded, and the chest stands on a recessed, almost hidden plinth.
It comes in ivory lacquer with a gold strip, or in grey-beige lacquer with an oak strip. The first is brighter, the gold standing out against the ivory; the second is calmer, with the oak grain warming the greyish tone. The top is slim and smooth, with room for a vase, a perfume bottle or a jewellery box.
The wide drawers are ideal for folded clothes: jumpers, household linen, pyjamas. Above it, a mirror looks good, either tall and leaning against the wall or round and wall-hung, turning it into a place to get ready in the morning. The strip design is shared with the Soho bedside tables, tall chest and wardrobe, so the pieces come together in a coherent bedroom.
We make it to measure for the spot you have in mind, along a long wall or in a shorter recess, and the lacquer and strip are chosen with us at our shop in Pombal.
