Colline Bed Bench

The Colline Bed Bench is long and low, with a thick, soft-edged upholstered seat resting on a slender wooden frame. The four legs, tapered and round in section, rise at the corners a little above the frame, up to the middle of the seat, framing it in a light design that leaves the floor visible underneath.
The seat is covered in a mélange fabric with a coarse weave and a well-defined texture. In the Colline Long Bedroom the fabric comes in warm browns and beiges; in the Colline Bedroom, it is a grey mélange with dark threads that goes with the bed’s headboard. The frame is in greyish-brown wood, and the meeting of wood and fabric gives the piece warmth.
It is a place to sit while putting on your shoes, or to lay a throw and tomorrow’s clothes, at the foot of the bed or by the window, as in the Colline Long Bedroom; in the Colline Bedroom, it stands against the wall beneath a painting. It looks good with the Colline Bed, with its textured fabric headboard, and with the Colline Long Bed, with its very wide headboard. Its legs echo those of the Colline Dressing Table, which also rise above the top.
