Galia GAL.02 Sideboard

The Galia GAL.02 Sideboard is long and calm in its lines: two fluted fronts with vertical grooves flank a glass door with a dark frame. The left-hand front is wider than the right, and that asymmetry gives the piece a rhythm of its own. Behind the glass, a shelf, also in glass, and interior lighting show off glasses, vases or a favourite book.
The top and the sides are plain, with rounded edges, and the body rests on angled dark grey metal legs that make it look lighter. The finish, a pale natural wood tone, brings out the relief of the fluting and contrasts with the dark metal of the frame and legs.
It is the sideboard in the Galia GAL.01 Dining Room, a bright room opening onto the garden, and its top has room for a lamp, a picture propped against the wall or serving dishes. It goes with the Galia GAL.01 Display Cabinet, which takes the same play of fluting and glass to a tall piece, and with the extending Galia GAL.01 Rectangular Dining Table, on its metal base.
